Summer Bummer

Posted by Exer on Thursday, July 1st, 2010

We’ve been having rain, rain and more rain the past couple weeks. Looks like it may be a typical wet Alaskan summer. Not that I should be all that bothered by it, since I’m not actually working outdoors at the moment. What do I really have to complain about, mowing the grass too often? I [...]

Alaska isn’t always a winter wonderland, covered in feet of snow. We are a green, green state, for a few amazing months of summer.

Puppy Tales

Posted by Exer on Thursday, June 10th, 2010

OK, well he isn’t exactly a puppy anymore, but that doesn’t stop me from calling him “pup” every now and again. Whenever my mom stops by to visit she calls him “grandpa”, but that’s just because she is evil and likes to pick on helpless animals. Yup. Anyway, here is my PUP out enjoying the [...]

Don’t Bug Me

This little lady decided to land on my brothers hand while we worked on his car in the driveway. She wasn’t in any hurry to fly away, so we grabbed a camera and decided to try out the macro lens.

If You Musk

Posted by Exer on Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Every day is a lazy day for a muskox at the Alaska Zoo. It must be a lonely life. I went with my cousin, who kept saying things like “They want to be free!” every time we would reach a new exhibit. It annoyed me at the time, but looking back on the photos I [...]

Techno-lust

Posted by Exer on Sunday, March 7th, 2010

I’ll be the first to admit that I spend money on things I don’t “need”. Do I need 2 flat panels sitting on my desk? No, not really. Did I need a Kindle? Nope. Did I need an iPhone, when any ol’ phone would have worked fine? Nah, didn’t need it. I just wanted those things, and sometimes you just need to treat yourself to something. I just happen to like technology, and that isn’t something that will ever change. Even being broke won’t stop me from wanting geeky gadgets, it will just stop me from buying them!

So anyway, I got excited a few months ago with the impending announcement of the “Apple iPad”. I thought I’d really like it. I was actually well prepared to start listing the reasons in my own mind why I HAD to have it. Surprisingly though now that all the details are out, I don’t really want it anymore. It just wasn’t exactly what my mind envisioned it to be. So, that saves me some money, right? Well, perhaps not. I’ve found something else to lust after, and I have to admit that it has peeked my interest much more than the iPad ever did.

Take a look at the Microsoft Courier.

Just watching that video made my brain explode with ideas of how many ways I could use this thing. I think this is pretty much a device that everyone could be carrying around, it seems to have that much potential. Not to mention it just looks… awesome. I mean seriously, wrap this thing in a nice leather journal style case and I’ll buy it right now. Man, I need to start earning some money again!

LOL…your gonna cost me a bundle when it comes to holiday gift giving times. You and your techno toys you love so much. Good thing I’m working towards getting that high paying job!

But on a serious note. That Microsoft Courier does look really slick and something I wouldn’t having myself one day.
