Summer Bummer

Posted by Exer on Thursday, July 1st, 2010

We’ve been having rain, rain and more rain the past couple weeks. Looks like it may be a typical wet Alaskan summer. Not that I should be all that bothered by it, since I’m not actually working outdoors at the moment. What do I really have to complain about, mowing the grass too often? I [...]

Alaska isn’t always a winter wonderland, covered in feet of snow. We are a green, green state, for a few amazing months of summer.

Puppy Tales

Posted by Exer on Thursday, June 10th, 2010

OK, well he isn’t exactly a puppy anymore, but that doesn’t stop me from calling him “pup” every now and again. Whenever my mom stops by to visit she calls him “grandpa”, but that’s just because she is evil and likes to pick on helpless animals. Yup. Anyway, here is my PUP out enjoying the [...]

Don’t Bug Me

This little lady decided to land on my brothers hand while we worked on his car in the driveway. She wasn’t in any hurry to fly away, so we grabbed a camera and decided to try out the macro lens.

If You Musk

Posted by Exer on Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Every day is a lazy day for a muskox at the Alaska Zoo. It must be a lonely life. I went with my cousin, who kept saying things like “They want to be free!” every time we would reach a new exhibit. It annoyed me at the time, but looking back on the photos I [...]

But… Where Are They?

Posted by Exer on Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

One of my brothers friends stopped by earlier, and he just so happens to have a beautiful little (almost two-year old) daughter named Amaya. This girl has light cocoa skin, and bright blue eyes, and is such a pretty little thing that you can’t help but smile and stare at everything she does. Well the first thing she did after being plopped down in my living room was walk up to me and say “Toys please?” and I replied “Awww, I’m sorry, but I don’t have any toys!”

I honestly felt bad, like I was letting a poor little kid down or something. She blinked at me, and scrunched up her little nose in confusion, then very slowly and deliberately she repeats “Toys… Please…?” as if she thought that if she could get me to clearly understand what she was talking about, I would magically produce a before-that-moment hidden collection of wonderful toys. Her father came to my rescue at that point and told her to stop harassing me about toys, I couldn’t help but laugh at the disappointed face she gave me as she walked away.

Of course later I found her in one of the other bedrooms rolling around on the floor giggling in a big pile of my dogs toys. I can understand her mix up, my dog does have quite the collection, and some of those things look an awful lot like something a kid would just have an amazing time playing with. I didn’t think her dad would be all that pleased to see her run by with a rawhide bone in her month though, so once again I had to disappoint her and steal her away from her fun.

I’m such a grouch!

hehe I am always going after Rascal when HE thinks Bri’s toys are for him to play with! But Bri and Rascal are best buds and don’t seem to mind sharing LOL

Lily has sort of taken over the cat toys lol… But we let her go because Jinxie only plays with two of them since she got fixed.
