Dude, Where’s Your Car?
So for the better part of a month now, my little brother has been in the process of buying a car. And by “process” I mean he has went down to look at it about a dozen times, drooling on it, and giving it free car washes and stuff (I might have made a little bit of that up). He has pretty much had his heart set on it and has only been waiting for our mom to get back from vacation before pulling the trigger.
Smart thinking on his part, since our mom has this tendency to go nuts if he makes big decisions without her consent and/or participation.
One small flaw in the plan — he told his best friend about the car — one of those types of friends who just has to have EVERYTHING that you have. If my brother gets a pair of shoes, this kid has to have the same pair. If my brother gets a certain skateboard, this kid rushes out to get one just like it. See the pattern here? So tell me why in the world would you tell a person like this, who you know has this habit of wanting what you have, about your dream car? That just sounds like the worst idea in the world.
And it was. This kid, my brothers so-called best friend, went and bought that car just 2 days before our mom was due home. Almost literally snatching it out from under my brothers outstretched fingers. Dang, now that is friendship! How does that saying go, with friends like that, who needs enemies?

I know… pretty low thing for a friend to do. I hope he finds something else that catches his eye :S

I agree. It is a pretty low thing for a friend to do. I feel really bad for Jordan as well. Keeping my fingers crossed he finds a even better car and shoots his friend right out of the water!!
