Bonding Time

I got the chance to spend a little time with my brother this past weekend–something we should do more of considering we live together–when we went to go see The Watchmen.  The nearest theater to my house is literally across the street, not more than a 2 minute walk, so the fact that we only go to the movies a few times a year is really unacceptable.

We’ll have to start doing more of that.

Movie prices are really getting outrageous though, 9.75 per person?  Come on, that is just crazy.  When we moved to Anchorage in the summer of ‘98, a single movie ticket was 7.25.  I remember that well, because it was our first movie we ever saw in Alaska (the movie was Blade by the way).  So that means in little over 10 years the price of movies is almost 3 dollars more per ticket.  I’m afraid to think what the prices might look like in another decade.

Anyway, the movie;  I liked it.  A lot.  It won’t be the type of movie most people will enjoy, but I grew up a huge comic book nerd, so this was right up my ally.  Liked everything aside from the sex scene.  There really is no comfortable way to sit next to your little brother while watching people having sex on a 40 ft wide screen.  Nope, nothing comfortable about that at all.
